[b]No. GI side effects, including constipation, are going to be common with this kind of medication given what it does to your gastrointestinal system. It has been pretty bad for me TBH. A couple of times I thought I would have to go to urgent care. It was pretty bad, but I dealt with it myself. Which I probably shouldn’t have. Sorry if this is TMI, but you were asking about it. And fwiw, some never experience constipation at all. [/b]

3. Do you feel full faster? Or just do t have interest in eating?

4. If you are feeding a family (of 5 for me) how do you manage that? Are you grossed out by it all?

[b]It’s only DH and I. He has had to stop making the frozen burritos he loves because I just can’t with the smell. I also hate the smell of his morning, coffee, but I’m not gonna take that away from him, lol. I don’t have a problem cooking anything though.[/b]

5. Do these meds ever NOT work? Do you just try a new one if that happens?

[b] I have heard of this happening, yes. But I think it works for most people. I have only tried Wegovy, and it worked right away for me. I’ve been on it since April, and have lost about 45 pounds. And I’m not even up to the most therapeutic dose, because it works for me and I’ve had side effects so no reason to go up in dose.[/b]

6. Do you know anyone who has gone off one of these drugs and managed to keep the weight off?

[b]No. The research seems to show that people gain it back. You will hear a lot of people saying “I haven’t gained it back! And that’s because I learned how to maintain a healthy lifestyle!!” but then you find out that they have only been off the medication for six months. My doctor told me that obesity is a chronic condition, and I will be on the medication for life. Otherwise the weight will come back. But there does not seem to be a settled standard of care with regard to this. Some people‘s doctors are telling them something else. And of course, the insurance companies are not going to want to continue to pay for it. We will see how it shakes out with regard to standard of care.[/b]
