For soccer, high school teams don't matter. There is another system in place for identifying the best soccer talent.[/quote] High school is important in basketball only because the top AAU teams are coached by HS coaches and those players are on the team. You no longer have decent random public school kids with maybe a D1 player…all the top players get poached to privates or move inbound to a public basketball powerhouse (which aren’t inner city teams anymore).[/quote]
