We have all their history too!  American cuisine is the BSST!!! We import everyone else's and make modifications that are super delicious.  I lived in several countries in Europe for 10 years.  The Brits are quick to tell me that they invented the sandwich from "Earl of Sandwich". [b] I'm quick to point out that their sandwiches suck and although they invented it, we perfected it.[/b]  Same with hamburgers - Roman's invented them, we perfected them.  Mexican food, same. I LOVE my healthy burritos from trendy places.  I can go on and on.  Immigration has been good to our culinary scene!!! Everything is American, because we have such a rich cultural fabric of people.[/quote]
omg.. one of my favorite stories about the first time I went to work in the UK was when I went to their cafeteria and asked for a sandwich.  When they brought it to me, it had one slice of ham,  one slice of cheese, one lettuce, one slice of tomato.  I am not a big eater, but still I was like 🫨.   I told this story to my now spouse who is from the UK, and they laughed.  They said,  yea, it is kind of like that.

My spouse likes to say that the Brits are great at inventing something that other cultures seem to able to perfect so much better than the Brits do.

Agree with the US immigrant culture making our food choices one of the best in the world.  My Brit spouse is a foodie so they also appreciate the diverse food cultures here.[/quote]
