Yeah I’m seeing on social media that it’s a total shite show. People are getting out of cars and walking up on the Parkway. I have to take ds tomorrow for an 8:30am flight. I just told him we’re leaving at five o’dark for a 20 minute drive. 😂
??? why don't you drop him off at the metro?
Because metro sucks.
It does not suck worse than being stuck in traffic and missing your flight.
Again, the passenger draw for DCA extends a lot further than people who live near a Metro. I don’t know how this can be made any clearer. I’m not going to drive 20 minutes to park at a metro station to then have a 40+ minute metro ride with a line change to DCA.
Well it was over an hour plus to just drive up to the airport. Better to relax on metro then deal with that hell. Just uber to the metro stop.
Metro is far from relaxing.
What is not relaxing about it? I’ve done metro to both Reagan and Dulles and catch up on emails, read news on my phone, etc…. It sure beats all the DC traffic, airport traffic, parking, or making whoever drive you have to now do that x 2 and drive back home. It’s way faster than driving from the city at least. It’s a huge game changer once the tracks to Dulles was done.
The grime, the smell, the poor climate control, and the shady passengers.
Different poster here, and I think you don't ride metro much, or maybe haven't in the last year or two. None of those issues are a problem on the 5-6 metro rides I take a week. Especially on the ride to the airports from downtown DC - those are generally quiet, primarily commuters.
