Yeah I’m seeing on social media that it’s a total shite show. People are getting out of cars and walking up on the Parkway. I have to take ds tomorrow for an 8:30am flight. I just told him we’re leaving at five o’dark for a 20 minute drive. 😂
??? why don't you drop him off at the metro?
Because metro sucks.
It does not suck worse than being stuck in traffic and missing your flight.
Again, the passenger draw for DCA extends a lot further than people who live near a Metro. I don’t know how this can be made any clearer. I’m not going to drive 20 minutes to park at a metro station to then have a 40+ minute metro ride with a line change to DCA.
Nobody said it was an option for everyone. But a number of people here said they were picking up or dropping off a college student. Easy fallback option if you check the traffic and it's bad in that scenario. Of course doesn't work for everyone. But it's the type of situation that if you take say 20% of the cars out of the equation, it can make a massive difference because traffic backups aren't linear once they get bad
My college student metroed to Rockville from DCA. Fur sure took less time than my round trip.
