Op here. Again, we have lived in a neighborhood without kids for 14 years prior and have lived here since Spring. My kids are old enough to play outside alone so it’s not an issue of playmates vanishing. I’m simply curious why people are weather averse so early in the season. Winter isn’t officially here. [b]If you don’t go outside now, do you not go back out until Spring? [/b]

You are starting to catch on. And to the German PP, no we don’t want to wear all that stuff just to go outside. We have a lovely climate controlled home! If I want to go outside in winter I fly south.[/quote]

Oh, my children just can't bear to get dressed on a weekend! But we'll spend hours to get to and from an airplane because we want to brag about how we're so rich that we too soft to outside our own home on a normal day!

This modern American weakness is why China is taking over the world.
