Well. I can say that we knew what we were signing up for when we agreed to play at this level, that being ENCL. I am happy that the SC teams dropped from the Mid-Atlantic a couple of years ago so we avoid that trip and furthest Mid-Atlantic trip now is Wilmington and Charlotte and those weekends at least pick up games in Raleigh on the way back. Now that our DD is older, we do have the "showcase" events so we do have a really busy spring schedule with trips in December, January, February and March, flights for January and February. Fricking Playoffs again on the West Coast! I thought I heard that they would be moved back East or at least Central. I'd be happy with that even if that meant the Finals were moved out of Richmond! Yeah San Diego - here we come! Lucky that the work travel that we do pays off with enough airline miles to fund the trips, but realize that not all are in that situation.
Showcases are one of the dumbest things about US soccer Kids getting evaluated after flying or driving for hours and worse, they are at 65% performance on their 3rd game when the scout decides to evaluate them.
If your player is doing the job, scouts know you player before the scouting happens in the game. Constant communication should be key and highlights etc.
