Trump cannot be an atheist. He has a sense of humor, people like him, and he has children. He also wears suits and likes to party. (At least he did when he was younger.) He likes to attend boxing and UFC events. He’s definitely not an atheist.
Are you religious or are you joking?
Completely serious. Trump cannot be an atheist. He has none of the well known atheist attributes/qualities. He’s not humorless, he takes pride in his appearance, he has relationships with women and has kids, multiple, he goes to sporting events, he likes to have fun. All those things, atheists loathe. Atheists don’t even like each other, and can’t get a long in their atheist circles. You know it’s true.
DP. That was an interesting take but contained no references to signs of devout or pious behavior. I do enjoy a good laugh but for me, Trump’s humor is usually mean-spirited and self-serving. He shows no outward signs of being a genuine Christian or following any theist based moral code. Of course he is charismatic - he is a cult leader preaching a false gospel of Christian nationalism, division, and dehumanization of immigrants. The Bible is full of calls to treat foreigners with respect, fairness and dignity - and to seek justice for the lowly, avoid lying, and to refrain from cheating others, making proud boasts or acting arrogant. He urges his followers to engage in violence and callous disregard against migrants/ non Christians and anyone who opposes his chaotic proud views. The only good thing I could say is that he does not display false humility. Here is what the Bible has to say about religious leaders who lead people astray: Matthew 18:6 But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. 2 Peter 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. Isaiah 9:16 For those who guide this people have been leading them astray, and those who are guided by them are swallowed up. 2 Timothy 3:5 Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. Matthew 7:15-20 (the fruits of the Trump tree appear rotten to the core) “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. ... Jeremiah 50:6 “My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray, turning them away on the mountains. From mountain to hill they have gone. They have forgotten their fold. 1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 Peter 2:1-25 (Trump is full of malice and deceit) So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ... Acts 20:30 And from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. Matthew 15:14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” Matthew 18:5-9 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. “Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes! And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.
