This is definitely a troll post or a humble brag. Op rejects all advice given and there really is nothing of import anyone can say without knowing the sport, and the set of schools. What makes me put it solidly in the troll pile is nearly all D3 recruiting occurs in the summer before senior year, yet op is claiming to have received a D3 offer a whole year earlier.
For that matter, how realistic is it that kid would have several national awards at this point in junior year.
OP here: these awards are exactly why the application will stand out in a good way. The awards are definitely not the norm. As for the offer, it is definitely contingent on a preread now, and as I said in the original post, a second one at the end of jr year. I also have not rejected all advice. I rejected the suggestions to try and recruit thru an ivy bc that won’t work. I also rejected not giving my kid my thoughts when asked for them. I accepted: - make sure it is kid’s choice - consider taking a good offer asap so it is not lost - consider: don’t take a good offer too soon bc the kid could definitely get into a great school - consider how hard and indefinite admissions are and go with a more sure thing I think those are all good points, the last three are not only why I posted (bc I see it both ways) but also why the answer is probably not clear cut to my while either.
