On,y your kid can answer this question. Time to put on his big boy pants.
You do know that big boys can ask for input and advice, right? I always ask trusted family members for advice about big decisions…maybe try it…
Ba, strangers on dcum know nothing about how much you kid likes each school or even what the schools are. You’ll get zero meaningful advice here on this question. Of course it reads like a troll post anyway. So garbage in, garbage out.
Except my original post said exactly how the kid felt about the school (liked it) and an ivy (loved it). - def not a troll- what makes it read like a troll post?
I don't know...numerous people have asked if it's a D3 or a D1 school which matters quite a bit...yet you have never once answered the question. Even that little bit of information is quite useful.
It is D3, so no money and none is needed (meaning it isn’t a factor in the consideration. I didn’t respond about “why not see if an ivy is interested” only bc I already said that the kid is not recruitable by an ivy.
So, it's Emory/WashU/Chicago/NYU vs. an Ivy. Correct? I would just delve into what they like about the Ivy vs. one of these schools. While an Ivy is D1 sports, they have increasingly lost the sports culture. That's a big difference from 20 years ago. I will say that UAA sports recruiting is much closer to D1 recruiting vs. other D3 schools. They provide likely letters and the coaches (my experience) tell you that you either apply ED or you lose your spot...they have enough kids interested, that they just move onto the next kid. Always possibility of walking on which is increasingly not an option for an Ivy or any D1 due to the recent NCAA settlement.
