Laken Riley case: Murder suspect was 'hunting' for women on UGA's campus, prosecutor says

The suspect accused of killing 22-year-old Laken Riley was "hunting" for women on the University of Georgia's campus the day the nursing student was found brutally murdered on the school grounds, a prosecutor said Friday during opening statements in the bench trial.

Special prosecutor Sheila Ross told the court that while on that "hunt," the defendant, Jose Ibarra, encountered Riley while she was out for her morning jog on Feb. 22.

"When Laken Riley refused to be his rape victim, he bashed her skull in with a rock repeatedly," Ross said. "That is what this case is all about."

The video showed Tibbetts jogging and Rivera's car going by, officials said, and Rivera was tracked down by investigators Monday.

In an interview, Rivera told authorities he saw Tibbetts running, got out of his car and ran alongside of her, Rick Rahn of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said.

Rivera said Tibbetts grabbed her phone and said, "I'm gonna call the police," according to an arrest affidavit.

The Kayla Hamilton murder is especially egregious, because immigration officials let the perp through our borders even though they knew he had ties to MS13!  So sick.  It is a murder that was 100% preventable of Biden and the Dems didn't allow anyone with a pulse to simply be let in, or caught and released.
