1. Buttigieg is one of the most thoughtful Democrats on union issues. Despite enormous pressure to support Medicare for all he pushed for a hybrid Medicare as an option to all which would preserve union health cares plans. Unionized workers do not want single payer AKA Bernie’s top passion because it throws away the benefits they have negotiated over the years. Buttigieg is from the Midwest. So why would working class people see him as a coastal elite? He’s gay. Homophobia is ginormous among working class folks.

2. Newsom has an impeccable record on pushing for workers rights. He’s the first out of the gate to push for higher pay, better benefits and safer working conditions and he’s been one of the most effective politicians at getting this done quickly. So why would working class folks not vote for him? He’s not gay but he looks gay. He’s too pretty for a man. He’s not crass. He uses too many words to explain things. He could be a model for what someone in the Midwest thinks a California guy looks like.

3.How about Latino men? It’s one of the most unapologetically machismo, woman hating , homophobic demographics out there. If a Latino woman or gay man was on the ticket, supporting every policy they want, they would come out in droves to vote against them. [/quote]
