DP. Chevy members are at the center of so many complaints across several schools yet a few schools still consistently appoint the Chevy crowd to their governing board. It is shocking. On a positive note they saved us a lot of money by doing so this year as we are now not donating what we had planned originally. [/quote]

It's not shocking. Those same parents  you mention bring something to the table - they are DC partners in law firms, financial experts or run successful businesses and are good at management. [b]When I am asked to serve on school boards, it's because I bring special expertise that no one else has[/b].  It has nothing to do with a country club membership.[/quote]

Doubtful. This is DC. Successful wealthy people are a dime a dozen. Many could easily fill those roles. [/quote]
