Let’s not forget that Trump and Project 2025 want to defund and break up the National Weather Service, including hurricane warnings and alerts. So if you want to have to pay to find out if a hurricane is coming to your area, vote for Trump.
I have family in the immediate area. The entire response including preparation before the storm has been bungled. I don't believe the mayor can even be bothered to get on the twice daily status briefings. If you like bungled disaster responses, vote Democrat.
What preparation are you expecting? They announced a clear evacuation zone days ahead of time, the storm followed pretty closely to predictions. What exactly will a MAYOR do in a Florida town?
My family is in Asheville area not Florida you moron. There were no evacuation orders until after the storm had already begun and even then it was only in the obvious flood areas. My family was expecting a lot of rain and were prepared for a week. This is going to go at least a month. Death toll will ultimately be hundreds if not thousands. Many like my family who survived the initial storm are trapped in their home with roads washed away and running low on food or water. I've seen more response from private organizations than federal.
