I had a positive experience with the school (6 years) and found the principal receptive and responsive to my concerns always. She is a straight-shooter, that’s her style, she communicates to the point. The school was extremely well-run and organized, and the teachers she hires are excellent. The environment/culture of the school which I credit to her was peaceful, loving, and orderly. I really thought she was a great so I had to comment here.
Did you have a child with no special needs who never really needed much from the school other than the curriculum that’s in place for all of the kids? My sense is that kids who can go along for 6 years without needing any extra attention or anything done differently for them do just fine (and also have very little interaction with Ms. Nesselrode). If a child has a special need of some sort, the child’s and parents’s experience can get more complicated and more negative.
Yes, ASD with ADHD. We had one issue with bullying and the counselor got on it right away and remedied the situation. I rarely contacted the principal but I felt if I absolutely had to that I could call her directly. In my 6 years this happened 2-3 times and she was very helpful. Normally my communication was with teachers or staff. As a principal she had a strong understanding of ASD and how autistic kid’s learn and develop in their early years. She attended all of my child’s IEP meetings from pre-K to 3, and the team involved was top-notch.
Interesting! I’m glad you had that experience.
Adding, I’m glad you had that experience, AND I wonder why people’s experiences with her vary so widely. It’s…confusing. Almost like we’re not talking about the same person.
Or it's almost like the other person in every other scenario is actually a different person... In reality, most people that have had positive interactions and experiences at Campbell aren't posting about it on here.
