Kids are going to lose their IDs. Lanyards will become a nuisance and be used in roughhousing or catching on a corner and knocking someone over.
Oh no! Nothing works. Everything is ruined.
DP. An ID requirement is worthless if there are a million reasons they wouldn't be able to actually expect students to always have their ID at school.
No, ID, have parents pay the $5 fee and replace it. No id, no school.
lol. You think they won't let students in that forget/lose their IDs?
Last year we were told to use the id on the phone till they could get it replaced. Originally they said no and just use the phone but I said I don’t send in the phone every day and they got a new one.
I'm not sure what you're getting at. They're not going to deny students entry to school that forget their IDs. And logistically they wouldn't be able to print replacements on-demand for everyone that forgets it. And phones don't work as visual IDs if you're worried about non-students walking around the building.
As a high school teacher, I am fully prepared to deny class entry to any kid who doesn’t have an ID. No ID.. right to the office. For people complaining, MCPS said the kids can clip it to their backpack… get a grip. This is not asking your kid to put on a tie or jump through 1,000 impossible hoops. Get the ID card and a clip from Amazon. Done. If your kid can remember their phone, they can remember their ID. Schools in other states have been doing this for YEARS. It’s time MCPS got on board and entitled parents stop complaining about rules that enforce safety. Grow up people.
