Absolutely take the offer. I moved my kids from a supposedly good public school to private when they were in 3rd and 5th grade. My only regret is that I didn't do it earlier. My DH and I both work in public schools. There are just too many behavior issues in public schools with very little consequences so students continue to misbehave. So much time is spent on the 5% of students who are completely out of control and the next 25% of students who really need extra attention to educate due to the trauma/neglect they have experienced in their life. Now add to that that special education is underfunded so students who should be getting more services are in general education classrooms without the intensive help they need. My kids were so surprised when they moved to private school that there weren't really disruptive students, all the students were able to do the work, the kids didn't talk back to the teachers, the bathrooms were clean, etc. The students just didn't seem to grow up so fast. They didn't go to a top tier, exclusive private school because we couldn't afford it. They went to a Christian school even though we aren't religious. We kept them there until 8th grade then in high school they are back at public in an honors track type program.
