It won’t be Buttigieg since LGTBQ folks will be under house arrest by then. I’m guessing Whitmer vs. Vance. Or maybe Don Jr.
A Trump WH will harm the community, but this hyperbole doesn't help.
It isn't hyperbole. They have already said they will round up "illegal" immigrants. Guess what, they won't look like Melania. They will look like "Mexicans" and "they" won't be able to tell the external difference between legal and illegal humans. And then as the poem goes, then they will come after... They are telling us EXACTLY what they will do. Listen to Trump's speeches, read Project 2025, listen to the Bannons and other Trump inner circle. They aren't kidding around.
What do people who have no legal right to be in the USA have to do with LGBTQ people who are US citizens?
You don't get it. The goal here is to create a white, Christian Nationalist country with women being subjugated. Not Christian? Outsider. Not white? Outsider. Not straight? Outsider. Not male? Baby machine. Legal rights will no longer matter. How quaint that you aren't getting the GOP agenda.
Of course that's the goal of many people. The Bill of Rights stands in the way though. You're still not answering specific questions. How will queer US citizens be placed under house arrest? What will the mechanism be?
You can't be this historically illiterate.
You can't be this bad at having a discussion.
OK, since you're being willfully obtuse: FBI? Local police? Both? You think the Federalist Socirty lackeys he's put in place in the judiciary are going to stop him? They've already given him a pass to violate laws under the color of "official" acts.
When someone pokes holes in your argument that is completely lacking specifics you don't just get to stomp your feet and call them obtuse. On what charges will the FBI and local police lock up masses of queer people? Yes, there are millions of Americans, many with lots of power, who would like LGBTQ people to go back into the closet and never be able to come out. That doesn't mean that masses of them will be placed under house arrest. If we can't honestly and accurately talk about specific threats then Project 2025 is going to achieve a lot of its goals. Because THEY ARE being specific.
And I think you're missing the point. It doesn't matter what the charges are, or even if the charge is "being LGBTQ" - the guardrails are gone. Thinking the courts are going to stop ANYTHING Trump wants to do is wishful thinking. He's going to do it anyway and dare you to stop him - that's how he works and that's exactly the roadmap 2025 provides.
And I guess I disagree that the guardrails will be gone. Will they be damaged? Yes. There will still be laws and courts that protect citizens in many ways. There are fewer laws that limit the President, and more courts that protect him, but what protects us will not just be gone.
