And just saying, "It's treatable" is not really the answer. Some treatable STIs can cause a lot of issues because they show few to no symptoms for a long time, and some strains can be aggressive or resistant to treatments.

This was years ago, before OLD was a thing and long before I was married, but I met a man while I was on a long-term work assignment and he and I decided to have a sexual relationship. That sounds weird to write that way, but that was how it was, we wanted sex with each other and agreed to be exclusive for that time, but we both wanted to get tested. We actually went together to be tested at the same time in the same lab! We had to wait like 8-12 days, I think, for certain results. It was worth it, and the waiting actually created a period when we were building up a lot of, let's say, positive tension. But I'd never have said yes to sex with him without seeing his results and I insisted he see mine so we were on the same page about everything. But back then, people also weren't hooking up easily via OLD with just a few swipes and a text or two. [/quote]
