Besides virtual academy, what item has been eliminated for FY25?
Office of the Deputy Superintendent Office of the School System Medical Officer
What did the Office of the School System Medical Officer do? Will there still be school nurses? Will they have oversight? Will someone be making sure that students have all state required vaccines and that athletes pass their physicals? I’m all for reducing bureaucracy, but I’m not sure why they start with medical.
Yes all those things will still be done just like it was before a Medical Officer was hired. But there will be other programs/ initiatives that will either be scrapped or have to be shepparded by others in CO and outside MCPS. Like the focus on vaping, opioids, and narcan training.
