Our experience with a younger daughter with Stars at St James has not been great. We are trying out for it again to maybe give it one more year, as this was our first. But are also trying out for True who is trying to field a new '31/'32 team in the Alexandria/Fairfax/Arlington area. Our Stars coaches don't seem invested in building skills with the girls, practices are unorganized (when they even happen), and we get slaughtered in every tournament, they don't have us playing our peers, don't reply to emails or TeamSnap chat, and clearly favor certain families and Light Blue (the better) teams.
I just posted that my dd left Stars for pretty much those exact reasons and is much happier. As a parent, I appreciate how organized her current club is. The communication is top notch vs stars. I don’t think I ever got a reply to an email from stars unless it was something regarding paying for something. Looking back, I’m mad my dd stayed as long as she did. The navy teams will never have consistent practices or coaches. They also put girls on those who really don’t want to play, so you end up with giant, disorganized teams in a money grab.
