One year on my birthday my mother gave me a beautifully wrapped little box, and inside it was a necklace that I already owned.

Then she gave me a birthday card still wrapped in the plastic “in case you want to reuse it.”

Then she collected the box and wrapping paper to reuse later.

Oh! My DH did this once. It was the most thoughtful thing he could’ve done. He knew how brokenhearted I was that I had lost it. And he knows how cheap I am and Wouldn’t want him to buy me another one. He even went to the store and had them give him a box to put it in to gift to me…. So of course I thought it was new but before I. Could get mad, I realized that it was the old one. [/quote]
