I'm in Dubai now.  Expats here drink waaaaay more than they do in other countries we've lived in Europe or Asia.  I know so many people who get completely plastered every weekend (or sooner).

I'm not a heavy drinker, but we're having a dinner this weekend, so I just picked up a couple bottles of wine tonight from a liquor store, which was full of people.  Dubai is definitely not a "dry country."  Quite the opposite, in fact.

And, yes, many of the locals drink too.  Lindsay might or might not have struggled with alcoholism, but you know nothing about Dubai if you really think it is a "dry country", or even a place where people drink less than the US or Europe. [/quote]
