Maybe consider something like this to the teachers:  As you might know, we recently dealt with a really difficult situation here at school.  It's over now and we'd really like to finish out the year in a positive way.  Would you be willing to meet with me and/or my child to get the missing assignments so we can get them in before the end of the school year?

Be calm, be clear, keep your feelings about the incident separate from the task at hand of getting the assignment done.
