My son grew very late, developed late but the only coaches that ever identified him were European coaches. Every event he went to in the US with Euro scouts he was always picked out of the large group of first team/highest players. I asked why one time and they said that he had everything “he knows when to pass vs when to dribble. First touch. Movement.” He got screwed over year after year after year by club and HS coaches. He’s now playing on a reserve team and going to play D1 next year. He wasted 10 years in a crappy us club system and most of his development were opportunities we found outside of that.[/quote]
