We live "out there" by choice on 2 acres. Each day, my kids come home from school and run around outside. And with the economy the way it is, we paid about $200,000 less. The appraisal, however, came in at about $150K more than the selling price. So we got a great deal. You have to look. You have to be able to factor in commute. (Mine doubled, but I didn't have a bad commute even when were were "closer in.") And you have to accept the fact that the amenities will be different. I have no regrets. [/quote]
