Ridiculously expensive for what it is. Anyone who would pay full freight for it has too much money and not enough sense. That's what I think of it.
Why does everyone always bring up how expensive Syracuse is? It's literally the same price as every other private college and University in the US.
I think they are factoring in the cost of the 2 airplanes, 3 buses, and 1 dogsled you need to get from DMV to Syracuse.
NO, they are comparing to the great value of instate schools And if not instate for your family than OOS is still cheaper. I can't fathom paying $85-91K for Syracruse! WHY? You have 4,000 options in the USA. WHY would you spend that kind of money to go there?????
Some have no trouble affording it, apparently. Why drive a BMW when a used Honda will do? Why go to Europe when you can vacation at a local lake? Why go to a Michelin star when you can get your feed on at Maccers? It's a matter of personal preference, and someone's ability to pay. Not really the mystery you make it.
In this case you’re paying BMW money for a Chevy, paying five star restaurant prices for Applebees, paying Ritz prices for Holiday Inn.
FFS. Not everybody pays sticker price. And those who do can afford it. There are lots of things to dislike about Syracuse, but price isn’t one of them.
If you don’t have “financial need” (about 2/3 of the students) then you have about a 50% chance to get some non-need based aid, and it will be about a $15k discount. Peanuts, doesn’t make Syracuse worth it. If you’re an athlete they’ll give you big bucks though. Yay!
