I’ve never been to a club that allows any form of payment other than charging to a member’s account. I’m wondering if the credit card posters have ever actually been to a club.
Agreed. Although there are many different types of clubs and exclusivity. Some (usually tied to real estate sales) you don't need letters of rec and sponsors to join. Maybe they have the possibility to pay cash or credit at least in their shops but not restaurants. Usually with reciprocity - its not any club anywhere in the country, its a specific group of clubs that have agreed to this and you charge it back to your account you don't pay with a credit card. As far as getting to hold a party at a club you don't belong to, in my experience yes this can happen but you need a sponsoring member to do it. Back to OP's original question - no you can't and I can't imagine why you would want to - the food isn't that good and it would be weird that you wouldn't know anyone else.
