I’ve never gone frequently but I have no idea how people travel, move, or have kids and haven’t been to one on 20 years. Sometimes it’s all that’s open or all that’s available. Granted, I moved more than most but still.
We don't go on long car rides. We fly, and bring a bunch of snacks onto the plane. Dh and I are both foodies, so we're more likely to make a milkshake or fries at home. I don't understand your point about "how people ... move ..." Why would moving houses necessitate going to McDonalds?
DP but there are certain situations where your family needs to eat immediately, you don't have access to a kitchen, and there's very little open or nearby. Like if you spent the day moving and it's 7:30 and you can't cook because there's no food in the house and you need to eat now, not in 40 minutes when a pizza shows up. The thing about McDonald's is that it's incredibly fast-- you can be eating within a few minutes of placing your order.
Or you could have planned ahead and packed a lunch and snacks. Unless you got evicted in which case, I get it. Otherwise, if you planned for the move, you could plan for the food. If you wanted to. If you don’t want to and like eating McDonalds, nothing wrong with that, but it’s not like it’s hard to avoid. I haven’t eaten there since I was 8 and it has not been a hardship in any conceivable way, because I have never liked the food and it would never occur to me to go there.
DP but wow, are you serious? Even though moving companies do our packing and moving, it takes weeks or months to get your things delivered. You live out of suitcases for weeks. You drive yourself to the new state with a car packed full of the stuff you need to get you by. I assure you that even if you don’t eat McDonalds during such a miserable, disruptive period, everyone will eat at places they don’t normally eat- or even like. Have you only lived in one neighborhood your whole life?
