One of the things that has happened is that the marriage material men or most of them are married after college or after professional school.  Doctors lawyers mbas.  They have not been on the market for years before they are married.

This is very true--tragically so for women who have been unmarried and career-focused until their late 20s / early 30s.  As a sad spinster friend put it, the best advice she could give to young women is to get out of the dating pool as fast as you can reasonably manage.  It's not like the odds improve over time.[/quote]
