recently, I put a small post it note on the door which says " no solicitors" and have not had a knock since.  Once a peddler came through, she called herself that, and asked me for money for something, when I said " no" she asked if she could use my phone for her ride.  I said no but that I would happily call the ride for her of she gave ME the number  ......she got mad and starting yelling it was because she was black ( I'm white).  I said color had nothing to do with it I don't open my door to strangers.  That was the wieirdest --- other than the political candidates when you are not voting their party:))). But, I still open my door every day.  It makes me happy but my mom, and grandmother always did as well![/quote]
