They’re not going to be able to make everyone happy. A location will get picked, the high level swimmers will probably be allowed to switch to a different site if that works better for them and keeps them from jumping to another club, and they will tell everyone else take it or leave it because it’s the best they can do.
I believe it will be multiple locations, sometimes even within a group. For those of us with multiple practices per week, it could look scary to start, but I’m trying to keep an open mind for now.
I think you are right it will be multiple locations which will not be great either. It would help if they’d tell us to plan. We may have to drop out.
Please do - what age group, we might fill your spot.
Aren't you charming. If your kid is that good or there is space, they will get it. Most likely we'll just pay and go 1-2 times a week.
It's not that easy, but the more slots that open up with unhappy people dropping out, the more opportunity there is. This past July, there were just 4 slots(!) open/available for KSAC Juniors and over 100 kids trying out. So, by all means, if you have to drop out due to the new practice locations or you don't think you are getting good value for your money please do drop out - there are plenty of us on the outside looking in that would love to have an opportunity to fill these vacated slots. Life is too short, no sense in paying good money for something you aren't happy with and will be underutilized/unappreciated.
We have no issue paying and not going often. There are times we do that now. But to send families to Gaithersburg or upper Rockville only works if you are on that side of town. It’s always been difficult to get spots past mini's the only way to get a spot is your kid is amazing or someone drops out. The junior coach is one to be avoided.
Same thing could be said about sending families to downtown Silver Spring - not going to work for many families and if you have to pay for parking that's an additional expense/burden that isn't part of the current situation or at Glenmont, Gaithersburg, Rockville, etc. I don't know anything about thee junior coaches but based on their enrollment and the demand, it doesn't seem like there are many families avoiding anything at RSMC/KSAC so maybe your sentiment isn't universal. Which is not to say it isn't valid for YOU and/or your child/situation.
many KSAC jr. swimmers's forms (even some adv jr.) are...well...just diabolical...

"diabolical"? Are you sure you understand what that word means?
