I used to think she was funny. This series was a real downer.
With all these comedians, I think it’s really difficult to stay funny after becoming really successful. They just are less in touch with common people’s issues. I say that about stand up and haven’t seen this show. But her most recent comedy special is so much less funny than her earlier ones.
I haven't seen her most recent comedy special, but I don't think that's the PP's issue with the show. The show is not meant to be a laugh riot. Especially Season 2, which is about realizing your partner is on the autism spectrum and how that changes your lives and relationship. I still think it's very funny in parts, but it also has a lot of serious stuff in it. As long as the serious stuff is interesting and well written/acted/directed, I don't mind. I think if you are watching the show expecting the equivalent of a stand up special, you will be disappointed. But like One, Mississippi and other somewhat dramatic shows from comedians, this show is not mean to be pure comedy.
Exactly
