Obama. Ryan will be the nominee in 2016 for republicans. Agree with pp who said it is a setup for a 2 term starting in 2016.
Unless he's thoroughly trashed over the next 4 months. He'll have the youth edge over Hillary, but she's still got my vote.
I really wish we would have elected Hillary in 2008. A big mistake.
Really? I like her, but I don't think she could have done any better.
She has single-handedly renewed our relationship with the world, so I'm very glad she's been at State. As POTUS, I think she would have taken a harder line with Congress in passing economic recovery measures, but I also think the Tea Party would not have been as much a factor, since I firmly believe they're mainly a reaction to the First Black President.
I keep reading this comment a lot on DCUM. The people I know who are fans of the Tea Party are not against Obama because of race at all; rather, they're all very upset over the economy and taxes. They view Obama as someone who doesn't get the challenges of running a small business.
What did small business want that it did not get? They expanded the SBA programs, created a $30 billion loan facility to encourage private bank lending to small businesses, another $15 billion to state small business programs, eliminated capital gains on small business investments, they created a raft of accelerated depreciation and writeoff giveaways, allowed self employed people to deduct health insurance costs, more tax credits, and they changed IRS penalties to favor small businesses. What exactly did they not get???
