You don’t need a bunch of “infrastructure” or “expertise” to address 2 inches of snow! Just another BS excuse (like Covid) for people not to do their jobs. And if it’s so unsafe out there, why are so many people out driving, going out to eat, etc? The ONLY things closed today are SCHOOLS!!
Does it really have to be explained that there is a difference between families/individuals deciding to go out to eat and assuming risks, and schools opening where the bus drivers have to show up for work at at 5:00 AM and drive 100,000 kids to school in the snow, on uncleared streets? Or that kids have to be able to walk to school on uncleared sidewalks? Or that high schoolers are driving on uncleared streets? This morning, there were lots of accidents on the roads, and even main roads (95, 50, FFX County Parkway) were not plowed. I had posted earlier that my friend's husband's 45 minute commute took him 2 hours. And not everyone got 2 inches. Some of us got about 5". FCPS has 11 snow days built into their schedule. We have used up 2. Fairfax county rec centers were closed too, BTW.
