Threads like this always make me laugh. The most successful club in the US is currently Solar. Have you heard their coaches before? They yell more than any I know including SC at Bethesda. What do you think MJ would say about the subject? Or Tom Brady? Or Tiger Woods? Or Roger Federer? To be the best, you have to know how to take criticism, good and bad. Otherwise, play Rec.
Please explain what makes Solar the most successful club in the US? How does criticism within itself help to make a player at any sport better?
Ummmm, their record, ECNL Championships and how many players they put into the USYNT system. It's not rocket science. As for your second question, please ask Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Simone Biles, Carli Lloyd, Raphael Nadal, Michael Phelps, Ronaldo, any Brazilian Futbol player, but would probably defer to Sir Alex Ferguson first. Vince Lombardi is dead so I guess you can ask Bill Belichek or Phil Jackson too. If this list does not sway you, I suggest you check into your local mental hospital for extreme narcissism. Thanks, Those are all adults. They can handle being yelled at, although I can assure you that Fed and Nadal never had coaches that needed to yell at them. (Rafael Nadal by the way) Phil Jackson did not yell at players. No player under the age of 14 should hear a coach screaming at them - before, during, or after a game. Self confidence is the number one factor for athletes who to get better and be elite. Any of those players listed above will you that. Youth coaches need to give these young player the blue print and the BELIEF that they can do hard things. Tearing them down won't do that.
