I would find it awkward at best if I were on a date and someone had leftover food and asked for a doggy bag. I doubt I'd go out with them again. It's not appropriate given the context -- if you were in a nice restaurant with clients and you had a bit of food left, would you ask for a doggy bag? No. The only people here who would say that they would do so have never been in a nice restaurant with clients. It's a similar thing. If you are with your sibling, fine. Spouse, fine. Even bff, fine. But an early date? No. Business clients? No. There are rules, people. And if you tell me "I don't care about things like that," I'll know your social skills are far below par. So, I guess you don't really have to care about that because you would be on dates with people at your level -- like 6 and below? -- who aren't in any position to be annoyed or not about doggy bags.
This is part of why I am in favor of a doggy bag on the first date if there is leftover food. I am not so fancy (or wanna-be fancy) that I would waste food just because it's a first date, and I always wanted to marry someone thrifty and down-to-earth. If that makes me a 6 or below to snobs, so be it. I'm out to have fun in life, not worry what others think about me.
This! I’m not interested in male pearl-clutchers who are more interested in appearances than practicalities.
