The council had years to think of a different name before the school opened. But they ignored it all this time, and now for ideological reasons want to rename it a few months after it’s opened? It’s a new school that’s trying to get off the ground, one where you’re going to be forcing people who weren’t expecting to go there to go there. Switching around the name after opening it just seems like a complete pointless way to sow confusion and hit efforts to build school spirit. And the council doesn’t seem at all interested in addressing things the actual students care about, like the transportation issues (which are the results of the city’s decisions, no less).

It’s as if these people feel there’s no reason to even try to act competently.

They don’t respond to e-mail, they don’t do anything on time, waste time on ideological issues while ignoring the basics of government, and only seem interested in spending tons of money of pet projects (we already have free upper-NW apartments, now the council wants to give people free e-bikes, Frumin wants to buy Intelsat to turn it into an “urban farm,” Janeese Lewis George wants to create city funded news organizations, McDuffie wants to spend money on reparations).

Yet they keep getting reelected.[/quote]
