(unless he dies before November, in which case the problems for Dems would be incrementally worse, because that would place President Harris as the incumbent who Dems would have to beg not to run).

Step 2. Trump is likely to be convicted on one of his 90+ indictments, most likely the Georgia election interference, and will be promptly cuffed and taken to jail. The outcome of these proceedings seems pre-determined, so it is hard to imagine any Court acquitting him.

Step 3. But Trump is smart and he will pick a likeable, normal running mate (Youngkin, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley, for example) who will seem very sane, safe, and Presidential in comparison to Biden or Trump.  (or Harris)  he will have no difficulty getting them to agree, considering step 8 below.

Step 4.  The Trump ticket will get all of the MAGA voters that Hillary called "deplorable," even though Trump himself will be sitting in jail on Election Day, plus the moderates and thoughtful voters in both parties will be more comfortable with someone like Youngkin, Scott, or Haley running the country than Biden, whose age, mental and physical fragility, and corruption grows scarier by the day to reasonable people.  Plus, one of the biggest campaign issues for Republicans will be that the political left has gone too far by throwing political opponents in jail, and needs to be stopped.  As unpopular as Trump may be, the image of one party throwing the opposing candidate in jail on sketchy charges brought by far left prosecutors will feel like we are becoming a third world country, and will make many Americans uncomfortable.

Step 5.  Biden will have to debate Youngkin/Haley/Scott, who will stand in for Trump on the Campaign trail, since Trump will be sitting in jail by October of next year.  Biden's inability to communicate in the debate will be embarrassing and scary for the Country, and God knows what additional mental and physical breakdowns Biden will have between now and next November that will make him unelectable.

Step 6.  The Trump ticket will win in a landslide - at least 40% of the electorate would vote for Trump no matter what (Hillary's "deplorables"), plus at least 20% would prefer someone like Youngkin, etc. over a clearly incompetent Biden.  In modern American politics, over 60% is a landslide.

Step 7.  As soon as the Trump ticket VP is sworn in as Vice President, and then a moment later sworn in as President, in January 2025, he/she will pardon Trump, who will rail on the travesty of what the political left tried to do to him, the country will begin its healing and start its to return to normal.

Step 8. Trump will serve out the remainder of his second term, and then Youngkin/Scott/Haley will be positioned to run for two more terms.

I think most of this is off-base, given Trump won't even share a stage with Youngkin/Scott/Haley - but the biggest thing that jumps out at me is Step 7 with your inane nonsense about "the country will begin its healing and start its return to normal" given Trump's talk about Project 2025 where he wants to persecute and prosecute liberals - thats the exact opposite of healing and normalcy.  Not to mention that the VP will not have the power to pardon Trump for STATE convictions.[/quote]
