OP, I took a 10% paycut, and went to full time remote for another company (pre-Covid).  The US office was three hours away, and headquarters were in Europe.  Mind you this was with the understanding that I would be responsible for my own internet, phone, office set up.  I was only getting a company laptop and docking station.  All other office equipment was on my own dime.

It still felt like a paycut. Yes I didn't have commute and wardrobe costs, but I still brought home less each paycheck.  It was fine for the time period I needed it. It helped me be home when my teenagers got off the bus, and helped me attend all of their afterschool practices and games. I was able to work anywhere, so when my mom had a stroke, I was able to move in with her for a month, etc.

The position was a dead end, with no movement, no bonuses, and little recognition.  Once my kids graduated, I started applying for better inhouse positions. When I went to the new position, I received a 35% increase, plus bonus and stock.  [/quote]
