Many have never voted for a Republican in their life. Some were republicans in the bush era but stopped voting Republican when trump came on the scene. All to say- these are centerists. What has transpired on the progressive left over the past month has been a major reckoning for moderate democrats like myself who kept telling ourselves that they are just a powerless fringe.
