That’s ancient history. Whereas, as of last night there’s an active shooter at large in Maine, near Bowdoin College. Mentally illness can happen anywhere. A guy shot dead 22 people at a bowling alley, a bar and Walmart distribution center. [/quote]

The shootings in Lewiston, Maine (home of Bates College), occurred at two locations, not three.

The bowling alley is just north of Bates College's campus; the pool hall/bar is just south of the Bates College campus. Bates College is right in the middle of both shooting locations.

Lewiston, Maine is not a nice city. Violent crime has been rising steadily over the past 5 years in Lewiston, Maine. Lewiston is the second largest city in Maine (about 38,000 residents) and is the second most dangerous city in Maine for violent crime. [/quote]

See, as someone who grew up in DC before heading south, I would have NEVER expected that much violent crime in Maine. Call me naive, but I bet a lot of parents would be surprised as well.[/quote]
