You can't. That's the answer. The [b]0.25 starting dose[/b] of Wegovy is just not available, anywhere. The manufacturer admits this. The highest doses of Wegovy are available though.

I think many people on this thread are taking Ozempic. What I'd like to know is, which insurance companies are covering this wildly expensive drug for people who DON'T HAVE DIABETES?  for people who are just fat? Because I need to switch to that insurance plan during open season.  My BCBS plan with the feds will absolutely not pay for Ozempic just because I have a high BMI. [/quote]

Get a 90 day prescription for metformin asap and you may be able to get Ozempic.  Metformin is a first step medication and most insurers won’t approve Ozempic or similar meds without some step therapy.[/quote]

I am newly on metformin for something unrelated to diabetes and it definitely has killed my appetite and made me feel nauseous all the time. I’ve lost several lbs just from food disgusting me. If you can get it prescribed to you it might have the same effect as one of the injectables. Worth a try. But I don’t know if it’s something you can just “ask” for. [/quote]
