Wait - Since when does POC only refer to people that actually look non-white? My DC’s buddy is half black, but has golden blond straight hair. Siblings are more obviously mixed race. However, they all identify strongly as black. Are you saying kid isn’t POC? What??[/quote]

Ok, and what is the point a "POC" category in reality? I understand a category such as African American--people who's ancestors were enslaved, they are a special category of people in the United States. American Indians, a distinct ethnicity that is also part of the social fabric of the United States. These are examples of ethnic groups. The other what you call brown people are of immigrant descent. Why should they be grouped with African Americans in American Indians in any meaningful way to form a random, useless category called "POC"? [/quote]
