The actual numbers? Request a print-out, or ask the doctor to repeat them to you, and write it down. Your time in the consultation room is when you have most leverage.
You can't order glasses with numbers you've written down! They need to provide you with a signed script at the end.
Why not? I just did that yesterday. We took my son to the optometrist. The OD put her notes in the computer in her office. When we walked out to the front desk, the printout was sitting on the counter where we checked out. I took the printed paper home and ordered my son's glasses from https://ZenniOptical.com and I entered the numbers into the web-site and I ordered the glasses. The signed script is still here sitting on my desk and the glasses should be here in a week or so.
I literally ordered glasses for my daughter from Zenni a week ago and had to upload an image of the prescription (in addition to typing in the values to confirm) Maybe you had a valid prescription still in your account or something.
