They both have a lower cutoff score than DC.[/quote] That's not even the point. The cut score isn't really the metric for states, though it is for DC. The states get a set % of the 16,000, no matter the score. so roughly the same number of kids in each state will be NMSF every year. The cut score is whatever that last kid in the list gets. DC kids have to meet the highest national cut score, and the number who do it will vary year to year.[/quote]
