This world is a disgusting void.
- thanks to toxic TikTok, and other social media. Social media is toxic. If you know that, can you explain why you are giving your tweens and teens cell phone and letting them use TikTok, Discord, Snap, Insta?
Seriously, why? Can anyone explain??
I think TikTok is the absolute worst and has no redeeming value. It gives a platform to people whose thoughts would be better not shared with the world. It gives an outlet to people who want to do stupid challenges for the attention. It's contributing to terrible behavior by kids and adults. I don't have TikTok myself, but anytime I've looked at a video embedded in an article, I feel dumber by association. It's also run by China. My DCs use Snapchat to communicate with their friends. It's a very different kind of social media than TikTok.
Yes - TikTok is run by Beijing. Did you know, TikTok is allowed in China too, but all “challenges” are banned / censored. All the US content on how to vape or how to steal cars, is censored on the Chinese domestic-version of TikTok. All gaming content is censored. Chinese TikTok (in China) only allows videos on the virtues of getting the best grades, how to apply to the top universities, why hard work is the best policy, why you must respect the communist state above all, then respect your grandparents. TikTok knows quite well its US content damages America (car theft, vaping, drugs, vandalism). TikTok knows it can easily moderate criminal / drug-related content in the USA. It chooses not to. So again: - is there a reason why any sane, decent, parent gives their kid TikTok? (hint: no). Sorry, not sorry: You are a horrible parent if you let your kid on TikTok.
Sounds familiar https://youtu.be/bmucyqOOKZU?si=OR42OolyJI2S9QFh
