Were you not alive in 2000? Do you not remember the Supreme Court halting the Florida Supreme Court-ordered recount? So the “duly certified results” are kind of a slapdash, finger on the scale way to let Bush win. Perhaps you’re too young to remember it all. But when it comes down to it - Republicans can only win by cheating. [/quote]

It's a pretty bad decision. They decided they could overrule Florida Supreme Court on its own recount procedures on the most un-Republican grounds: equal protection,

they then told the Florida Supreme Court that they could not complete another recount in time to meet Florida's Dec 12 recount deadline,

and lastly they did not hand the case back to Florida Supreme Court to determine whether they had the power to extend the deadline under Florida law
