Introducing DC into Maryland does two things...

1. You add at minimum 500,000 registered Dems to the rolls effectively making Maryland a permanent Blue State at the state level

2. The balance of power shifts from the DC suburbs (Moco, PG and AA Co) to DC itself. No politician in that area wants that.[/quote]
