I had to do this once. Was in a rush and completely forgot my child’s lunch. Luckily the front office was understanding and fed my child.
You didn’t. My kid forgot her lunch a few times last year. The first time I quickly added money to MySchoolBucks. She didn’t even try to buy and was fine waiting until she got home. The money was there for any other times she forgot.
Admittedly I ordered UberEats when my kid forgot her lunch, but we are also at a small private that does not have a cafeteria. Sure, I suppose she could have waited to eat until she got home, but then everyone has to deal with a hangry kid and no one wants that. I felt like this was a special circumstance; I wouldn't do it just for kicks.
Odd that the other kids wouldn't share food with your kid. That's what we always did at my small private.
I find it hard to believe the school couldn’t cobble together some stuff for her to eat: a PB&J, granola bar, graham crackers, apples, bananas, a lunchable. Surely they keep some food/snacks around for this purpose.
This is what our small private does. Basically a lunch of snacks. Not great, but works for one day and maybe helps kid remember their lunch next time. We sent in a bag of snacks the next day to bolster the supply for the next kid.
